- Cigarettes are readily available throughout Chile and many students and adults smoke.
- Many Chileans enjoy watching and/or playing football (soccer). This is usually a good point of conversation and a great way to bond with your Chilean counterpart.
- Try not to make comparisons between Chile and other South American countries when in the presence of a Chilean. While opinions vary depending on the individual, some people may not think highly of some of Chile’s neighbours and may be offended by comparisons made.
