- The structure of one’s name is similar to Australia, with one’s first name preceding their surname (e.g. Michael MUINEPE).
- Generally, naming is patrilineal, with children acquiring their father’s surname.
- It is not uncommon for someone to adopt their mother’s surname in the instance of an unknown or absent father.
